The Future of Interfaces Is Mobile, Screen-Less and Invisible
Google's Reto Meier predicts that virtual keyboards and voice input will eliminate physical keyboards within 10 years.

Google's Android developer advocate Reto Meier recently described his predictions on where computer interfaces are headed in the future.
Meier predicts that in five years there will be widely available flexible displays and built-in high definition projectors. Ten years from now, transparent liquid-crystal display patches that can attach to regular glasses will be available. In 20 years, there will be contact lenses that project a visual feed directly into the retina. These technologies are all available now, but they have not been developed enough for the applications that Meier suggests.
Meier also predicts that in five years there will be larger multitouch screens, better gesture input, and flawless voice recognition. In 10 years, virtual keyboards and voice input will permanently eliminate physical keyboards. Meier also predicts that 20 years from today people will be able to interact with computers through mind control.
