Why Electric Car Maker Tesla Has Torn p Its Patents

Tesla is opening up its patents to competitors. Like so many of CEO Elon Musk's ideas, it sounds crazy but might just be brilliant. Rival electric car makers are not the enemy — petrol stations are. So opening up Tesla's patents may not be as crazy as it sounds.
