American workers have made no economic progress since the beginning of the 21 century, and they didn't do much better in the preceding three decades. Workers feel stuck because they are stuck. Advances in information and communications technology are destroying more jobs in advanced economies than the advances are creating. This poses a political challenge for governments throughout the developed world.
