A Makeover For Stodgy Federal Agencies

Why isn't there a Department of Tech Support in this country? Economists keep waiting for technology to start making workers more productive, because so far it just isn't happening. 

To keep the economy percolating, the government should be in charge of providing free Wi-Fi service to everyone and making sure that there are hot spots everywhere. The government, not you, should purge malware from your computer. Removing viruses from computers is the modern, electronic equivalent of picking up the trash and sweeping the streets. 

The Department of Tech Support is just one example of how the government needs to respond to a rapidly changing world.
