Computer science (CS) skills are increasingly necessary to function in today's technology-advanced world and for the future. In a report, Brookings offers six recommendations for governments interested in taking CS education to scale in primary and secondary schools.
This includes: using economic development strategies focused on expanding technology-based jobs to engage all stakeholders and expand CS education in primary and secondary schools, providing access to ICT infrastructure in primary and secondary schools, developing qualified teachers for CS, exposing students early to CS education, engaging key stakeholders to address bottlenecks in physical and technical capacity, and teaching CS in an interactive, hands-on way.
