Securing Kubernetes Environments

When it comes to assigning priorities, Rory McCune advises thinking about your threat model.

Protecting a Kubernetes environment can be a daunting prospect. Ideally, IT leaders would have everything they need, with multiple teams to handle any issues. In reality, many lack full-time employees who can focus exclusively on Kubernetes security.

"You talk to security people and you'll hear them say, 'You should do all these things, otherwise you're not going to be secure,'" said Aqua Security's Rory McCune during Computing's recent "Deskflix: DevSecOps" event. "That's not the real world. The real world is we all have day jobs and many of them are not in security, so we need to try and work out where to apply our security."
