Once again, Americans are approaching a nationwide election cycle, and with it the threat of election misinformation and disinformation spreading via social media. To say that social media has a major influence on our collective national narrative is a vast understatement.
So while there is no panacea to the misinformation crisis, Big Tech could deploy any number of readily available solutions that would have an immediate effect on slowing the spread of disinformation. The most promising one may be the simplest: Fix the algorithms.
