Ohio Is Missing the Boat on Electronics Education
One thing we have learned is that when the U.S. fails to provide enough college graduates in high tech career fields, such as computer science and electronics, "emerging foreign nations" will step up and meet the demand. Over half the positions in these career fields filled by U.S. corporations by top students (college graduates) now come from India and China. India has filled more of the computer science positions and China, more of the electronics positions.
When we look at what we teach at the high school level (and we are not teaching computer science "basic computer programming" and "advanced languages like C++") then there is no wonder we are not producing sufficient college graduates with this major field. This points to a serious failure of our educational systems in this country.
