Hackathon Victor on Laying Foundations and CS Support Systems
"I do realize that I might be the only black woman in a group but I find it almost empowering," says North Carolina A&T State University computer science major Oluchi Chukwunyere.
Oluchi Chukwunyere is a junior computer science major at North Carolina A&T State University and recently helped lead a team of four students to a First Place victory at the Black Enterprise 2019 BE SMART Hackathon in Round Rock, Texas. Chukwunyere and her peers beat out 12 other teams from historically black colleges and universities.
Chukwunyere discusses the competition and her work in the predominantly male, white field of computer science in an interview.
