As Susan Gregurick moved from academia to the U.S. Department of Energy and now to the National Institutes of Health, her views of data and data science have grown. Now, more than ever, she is convinced that data science is not just about technology but also about the people who will readily use and reuse data.

Gregurick sees the current COVID-19 crisis as an opportunity for a leap forward in thinking about data sharing.

She discusses her views of data science and how data can help push science forward in an interview.
