Intel's Melvin Greer: AI, Data Science a Growth Pillar

"If I had known AI would be this much fun, I would have pursued it much earlier," says Melvin Greer, Intel's chief data scientist for the Americas.

Melvin Greer, chief data scientist for the Americas at Intel Corp., leads the company's efforts in building out its data science platform, with AI as a primary growth pillar. Greer is also an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University and serves as a fellow in residence and senior adviser for the FBI's Information Technology Applications and Data Division.

In an interview with Beena Ammanath of the Deloitte AI Institute, Greer talks about the importance of nontechnical skills and cross-domain expertise, ethical AI, and AI as "augmented intelligence."
