Yoshua Bengio: The Past, Present, and Future of Deep Learning

Best known for his work in pioneering deep learning, Yoshua Bengio was one of three recipients of the 2018 ACM A.M. Turing Award along with Geoffrey Hinton and Yann LeCun.

In an interview, Bengio discusses working with LeCun and Hinton, research from several well-known papers he's authored, his work on word embeddings and the curse of dimensionality, adding more structure/inductive biases to language models, GFlowNets and reinforcement learning, Cartesian dualism, and much more.
